Artist Bio

I’m Katherine, the artist behind Purple Peach Studio. I specialize in illustration and create handmade stationery items and gifts featuring my whimsical drawings. I love to work with clients to bring their vision to life! My services include custom illustrations for private and commercial clients, as well as web design and digital media management.

I have been based in Corning, NY since 2019, and I work out of a studio in my 120 year old Victorian home. My husband and I are both transplants– he is from the South, and I’m from Chicago– but we are excited to call upstate New York “home.”

I paint and draw digitally as well as with gouache and ink. I’m especially inspired by the charm of everyday objects, and the many wonderful picture books I have read to my two young kids.

I’m active in the local arts community. I teach classes and workshops at 171 Cedar Arts Center, and am a member of the Arts Council of the Southern Finger Lakes. I participate in regional art fairs throughout the Finger Lakes each summer. I also work part-time as an educator in the Kids Rockwell Art Lab at the Rockwell Museum.

Check out my schedule for upcoming classes, workshops, and exhibits!

When I’m not art-ing, you can find me spending quality time with my family in our overgrown garden, hiking or biking the local trails, and flatwater kayaking. I offer yoga classes at Take Root Massage, and teach courses in Sustainability Studies and Anthropology at Elmira College.
